Learning at home is an essential part of a good education. Regular practice is important, since it gives pupils the opportunity to reinforce the tasks done in class, and helps the pupils work towards improving important skills. It also helps children become confident and independent in their learning, which will help throughout their time at school and in adult life.
- Students will have around 60 minutes of homework every night.
- Additionally, students are expected to read at least 30 minutes every night.
- Parent contact will occur if a student consistently turns in assignments late, incomplete, or not at all.
Homework Tips for Parents and Students
- Check for assignments in the Homework Log/ websites.
- Choose a quiet place and time to complete assignments at home
- Support, clarify, and motivate, but please do not do the work for your child.
- Talk with the teacher if a large number of assignments are too difficult or time-consuming for your child. Learning rates vary so it is difficult to articulate an exact amount of time that should be spent on homework each evening.
